Springfield Armory M1911 Barrel Markings for replacements done in the field during World War II.  These markings were also found on some newly manufactured guns produced in 1943.

Springfield Armory M1911 Barrel Markings for serial numbers 127,000 through 127,978.  This also covers the Post-WWI field replacements.

Colt post WWII field replacement (post 1949).  These barrels will always have a “P” and/or a “C-in-square” marking on the lower lug.  Barrels without these markings are commercial production.
