The Auto-Ordnance Parkerized pistol is manufactured by the Auto-Ordnance company. The Auto-Ordnance company is owned by Kahr, another firearms manufacturer. Auto-Ordnance focuses on producing WWII firearms such as the M1911A1 shown here and the M1 Carbine.
The Auto-Ordnance Parkerized is a faithful reproduction (the current models use wood grips) with military style roll stamps, lanyard loops and the vertical slide serrations. The serrations shown here no longer exist on the current guns.
The Auto-Ordnance High Polish is an older version of the M1911 pistol that was formerly manufactured by Auto-Ordnance. The high-polish, fine wood grips and rubber magazine bumper is what sets this pistol apart from the 1911A1 pistols currently made by Auto Ordnance.
The Auto-Ordnance Standard pistol used to be manufactured by the Auto-Ordnance company. This specific model is no longer produced. Auto-Ordnance is now owned by Kahr, another firearms manufacturer. The Auto-Ordnance company now makes two different 1911A1 clones, plus a limited, special edition pistol commemorating the 100th anniversary of the M1911.
The Colt Combat Commander is a 1911-style pistol manufactured by Colt starting in the 1970’s. The Colt Combat Commander was made in a variety of calibers by Colt, including the 9mm Parabellum, .38 Super and .45 ACP.
This specific Colt Combat Commander features a blued steel slide and frame and beautiful grips. Though the Colt Combat Commander is modeled after the M1911A1 handgun, the grips are similar to the original M1911 grips.
The pictured Springfield 9mm is a single-action, single-stack 9mm pistol in the traditions and styling of the classic Colt M1911A1 pistol. It has an arched mainspring housing, relief cuts around the trigger guard, and an extended beavertail safety. Note the plain checkered black grips as well.
The Springfield 9mm pistol has a stainless steel finish and a tritium night sight for the front sight. This sample is brand new and has never been fired by a consumer.
This is the STI Falcon .40 S&W 1911-style pistol which is no longer manufactured. The STI Falcon .40 S&W was designed for concealed carry, as it is a “chopped” version of the 1911 pistols and has a 3.9″ barrel. STI International, Inc. makes a wide range of 1911 pistols for competition and self defense.
STI International, Inc. makes single stack and double stack 1911 pistols. STI Falcon .40 S&W pistols are nice but no longer made.
The Smith and Wesson 945 is a variation on the 1911A1 pistol from the Smith & Wesson Performance Center. It is one of the ugliest 1911 interpretations I have ever seen, and I am very glad Smith & Wesson is now making more traditional 1911 handguns.
This is the highly regarded Kimber Compact 1911-style pistol. This version of the Kimber Compact 1911 is a shortened version of the pistol designed specifically for concealed carry and personal protection.
This Kimber Compact has a parkerized finish, tritium night sights, a stainless steel barrel and is chambered in .45 ACP. This is one of the finest 1911 pistols made for concealed carry without spending thousands of dollars.
The “Loaded” Springfield 1911 pistol is a .45 ACP caliber handgun. The pistol has a parkerized finish, 5″ stainless steel barrel, fixed low profile combat sights with a tritium front sight, and seven round magazines. The grips are made from Cocobolo hardwood and have the Springfield Armory logo on them.
The frame is forged steel, as is the slide. The “Loaded” Springfield weighs 40 ounces unloaded and has an overall length of 8.5″
The Wilson Sentinel is a 1911-style pistol manufactured by Wilson Combat. The gun has a 3.6″ heavy barrel and is guaranteed by Wilson Combat to group 1.5″ at 25 yards. The Wilson Sentinel comes chambered in 9mm and ships with single-stack, eight-round magazines. The pistol weighs less than 32 ounces.
